Dear Gabi san

Your last poem is quite enigmantic! The color of red triggers deep and varied ques in Nature, from luck to death. If "life" were a rainbow, which color ends its spectrum?

Although, I usually think mentioning death directly in haiku is problematic, my "gut" resonates with your poem.

Tongue sticks out:
a tricolor maple in
Prospect Park.

Autumn leaves:
are they redder this year,
or is it my eyes?

Thanks for your haiku and take care of those eyes ...

here are a few of my autumn leaves haiku, previously published:

a golden leaf
settles
on the center line

predawn footsteps
a leaf
jogs by

swirling in the dust devil
last fall's leaves
and cherry blossoms

a row of bradford pears
only one
thinks it's autumn
