After a morning full of white frost on the meadows
I could spend the afternoon in the warm veranda
thanks to a sudden burst of sunshine.
A lot of animal life is already going on,
with many birds in the sky,
sounds of mating from the bamboo grove
and my Haiku kun and O-Tsu parading up and down.
the first big mosquito
bangs its head
on the windowpane
