That's a beautiful plate, Gabi.
As it happens, I've been doing ceramic plates bowls and mugs with my classes. For the teacher's model, I grabbed some persimmon leaves from the tree outside the classroom and rolled them into the clay.
And I've stamped some haiku into the plates using some rubber stamp letters I have. But mine won't be as pretty as the one you illustrated!

Gabi san,

It’s a nice Japanese translation of yours.

[try to hold them] is well conveying the Japanese feeling.

Sehr gut !

Sakuo.

Thanks for you compliment, Sakuo san in German !

The Nun Rengetsu
scraffitoed her poetry onto her pottery. She didn't have a studio, wheel or kiln. She hand built her ware and fired in other potter's kilns.
You can see some of her work here:

Hi,
I love haiku and pottery. I'm trying to find some of Kitaoki Rosanjin's haiku. With the original Japanese and English translation.

Do you have any links, or can you post some online?

please email me if you do!
thanks,
Jason

Hi Jason, I have a bit about Kitaoji Rosanjin here, mostly food and pots and plates

http://washokufood.blogspot.com/2008/03/kitaoji-rosanjin.html

I will try and look for some haiku later, so check back at the ROSANJIN page.
