Before Daruma san became the representative of a SNOWMAN, the Japanese called it
"Snow-Buddha", yukibotoke. Especially Issa made many haiku with this word.

But now I want to show you a real cold Snow Buddha in my garden. The stone statue is a replica from the famous Shakyamuni statues in Gandhara, called "Shakyamuni during his ascetic practise" kugyoozoo 苦行象. It is about 70 cm high and if you hit the stone halo with your finger, it makes a wonderful sound too.

Here is my Snow-Buddha from the side.
