Warm Candle Light

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

cold winter night <>
the welcome warmth of
a small candle

kalte Winternacht <>
die willkommene Waerme
einer kleinen Kerze

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

More than 30 years ago, spending a winter in the High Himalayas, that was the only source of warmth in the home ...
And the many oil lamps in the Tibetan Lama Temples made me aware of the double meaning of these light offerings ...

Anyway,
cold mornings got me thinking about stuff to keep us warm as KIGO.
Haiku is not only about pure nature, as some may think, but also about the human condition within the four seasons.

So here is a growing list of kigo, inspired by one of my Japanese haiku lessons, that will hopefully keep you warm

Feel free to add your warm things to the BLOG as a comment !

Simply beautiful GABI!
Also your write up regarding the oil lamps.
Thank God for these small mercies.
