Dear Gabi san
We call that insect the "water boatman" or "water strider". I think the name in Japanese is "amenbo".
But Yosa Buson's haiku it is "mizusumashi":
刀禰川や只一ッの水馬
tone-gawa ya tatta hitotsu no mizusumashi
