Freezing Morning

冬日差し 解ける雪の 輝きを

waking up
to the morning sun -
the heart still freezing

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

and a little later on the large stone,
life and death unfolds

winter sunshine -
the snow sparkles
as it melts

Lovely Gabi--I am envious of the snow you get there. Remember, be sure to read the Japan Times tomorrow as the GokuRakuAn cats make their haiku debut in the mass media....Meows to everyone!

The early morning weather conditions were right for frozen fog.
Fog that sublimes from water vapor, fog, (gas) to ice (solid). It is a endothermic (heat absorbing) transition and therefore causes more fog to freeze, but, you must be at the right place at the right time to witness this rather rare phenomenon.

Any wind, sun, or temperature too high or too low and the conditions fail.

"frog" a joke about FROzen fOG! jump up to look
