...WHChaikumultimedia / WHR August 2001
Photo-haiku

In 1999 Mitty (Mitsugu) Abe developed the first interactive website for photographers and haiku poets to do something new and collaborate with their arts: “Overcoming Time and Distance”. Along with others around the world, WHC members have enjoyed Mitty’s sites by writing haiku for a wide variety of photographs of nature, people and places. Recently Mitty created Beacons, a web site in which people submit photos and haiku about the seasons related to the places where they live.
Already this site enjoys submissions from the U.S., Canada, UK, Japan and Italy.
.
https://whrarchives.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/photo-haiku/
.Gabi Grevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16362456518166174106noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8669788.post-18093546116982281862014-05-13T17:52:05.019-07:002014-05-13T17:52:05.019-07:00短歌画 tanka and "illustrations"短歌画 tanka and "illustrations"

As with all facets of our chosen genre, it is a lot more complicated than I thought, such as the haiku inside or outside the image. What you have given me is a door to approach this work in a different way. I will check out all the links in your wonderful entry. What I like is the sense of expansion it gives for my study of haiku, as well as haibun – and I do think we eventually feel a need for it. Or at least for me, it feels like a natural evolving expansion.
Thanks again.
o o o o o

You are most welcome, my friend, and all the best with your haiku/haiga life!
GabiGabi Grevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16362456518166174106noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8669788.post-3818316801570463232009-11-17T01:47:06.802-08:002009-11-17T01:47:06.802-08:00inglisDear gabi,

Shahai as you do it, poem next to the image rather than in it, seems to be what I've been calling 'photo haiku'--I think it may be Michael Dylan Welch's term.
I prefer it to photo haiga because the relationship between image and text is more open and not a scripted as photo haiga seem to be so often.
L.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8669788.post-1167471662299179422006-12-30T01:41:00.000-08:002006-12-30T01:41:00.000-08:00Hi Gabi,If nothing else, your message here and the...Hi Gabi,
If nothing else, your message here and the links you gave have helped me inch closer to the decision to purchase a digital camera.

Who knows ... after my book comes out, I might begin a new hobby ...

A friend from HollandAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8669788.post-1149928180709499322006-06-10T01:29:00.000-07:002006-06-10T01:29:00.000-07:00Dear Gabi San,Thank you for giving a link to Sha H...Dear Gabi San,
Thank you for giving a link to Sha Hai- photo and haiku nor narration, which somone said, about HAIGA-

Shahai in Indian language is helper, supporter or ally.
